Nexavar (generic name: sorafenib) is an oral medication that can be prescribed to treat:
A type of liver cancer called hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that cannot be removed by surgery
A type of kidney cancer called renal cell carcinoma (RCC)
A type of thyroid cancer called differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) that can no longer be treated with radioactive iodine and is progressing
Dosage
Follow the prescribing doctor’s instructions. The usual dosage of Nexavar is 400 mg orally twice daily without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal)

- Hair thinning or patchy hair loss
- Tiredness or fatigue
- Weight loss
- Nausea/vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Changes in taste
- Dry skin
- Mouth sores
- Voice changes
- Bleeding gums
